Queensland food businesses fall under one of the five different food industry sectors: Hospitality, Retail, Food Processing, Health & Community, or Transport & Distribution.
Below is a list of the Queensland food industry sectors, including their Units of Competency:
Hospitality: Suitable if you work in a hotel, restaurant, bar, pub or cafe
Retail: Suitable if you work in catering, a supermarket, a deli, grocer, convenience store, service station, take-away store or market stall
SIRRFSA001 - Handle food safely in a retail environment
Food Processing: Suitable if you work in airline catering, a bakery, cannery or food manufacturing business
Health & Community: Suitable if you work in a hospital, aged care or childcare facility

Before beginning any Food Safety Supervisor training, it’s a good idea to contact your local council or state government to find out which Units of Competency you need to complete, in order to be qualified to work as a Food Safety Supervisor.
