While the two terms may appear to be used interchangeably, they do not actually mean the same thing. A Food Safety Program is a set of procedures that a food organisation has in place in order to prevent food hazards and risks in the organisation. A Food Safety Plan is a key part of a Food Safety Program and includes written documents detailing potential hazards and risks, as well as corrective actions to take should those occur.
