The Units of Competency for each industry sector are outlined below, as well as some examples of the types of food businesses which fall into each food industry sector:

Hospitality: Suitable if you work in a hotel, restaurant, bar, pub or cafe

  • SITXFSA005 - Use hygienic practices for food safety

  • SITXFSA006 - Participate in safe food handling practices

Retail: Suitable if you work in catering, a supermarket, a deli, grocer, convenience store, service station, take-away store or market stall

  • SIRRFSA001 - Handle food safely in a retail environment
